I change my mind often and it can be something small like moving the bird bath bowl from one side of the yard, to the other, or something bigger like rearranging all the furniture in my house. Changing my mind produces tangible results, so when the unexpected occurs it’s not so disruptive.
I heard once, “Tell me a decision and I’ll show you a direction”, and that has held true. Making a decision often leads in a different direction, but uncertainty sets in when we don’t know the plan. When an idea comes from the heart and travels to the mind that’s where I will shrink the idea into an easier plan, but God doesn’t specialize in easy. He likes it when we dream big, because if we can achieve it ourselves we don’t need him.
This week I received notification of someone liking one of my memes and assumed it was the one recently published but decided to double check. Clicking on the link I was surprised to see it was a meme published one month ago which fell in line with this week’s decision for the newsletter. I downloaded the meme to my phone and made it the screensaver to remind me, “I’d rather be scared where God is calling me, than be comfortable where He isn’t.”
My plans pale in comparison to His. Let’s follow that little spark in our heart even if it doesn’t make sense at the time and especially if it scares us. As we complete one step, the next step will be revealed, and we’ll be on the path to a greater plan.
