I couldn’t help but notice that none of the examples mention having more—more money, more possessions, or more success. They’re all about having less: less chaos, less urgency, less pretending, less pressure. That’s almost the opposite of what our culture advertises. It reminds me that God often blesses us not only by adding to our lives, but by gently removing the things that keep us from enjoying what He’s already given. “Godliness with contentment is great gain” (1 Timothy 6:6).
You are right, Kimberly and a quiet life is the opposite of what the world would have us believe is important. I’ve learned a lot this year about having less and the space it creates for more of Him. Thank you for sharing.

Grab a warm cuppa and soothe your weary soul inbarbsworld. I’m Barb, the writer behind this blog and I share through a clear, simple lens. I’ve lived a life filled with everything that money could buy, but in 2014 I left that life to feel myself living. Now, I know what abundance truly is and it can’t be bought.
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
