Ease into August

I left the music playing in the house as I walked outside to care for the flowers. Stepping back inside to grab a glass of water, this song was playing. As the water filled my glass my eyes well up in sync. That’s what this song does to me. It hits my heart center and releases a flood of emotion, that’s almost overwhelming. No matter what’s happening during the day, or overall in my life, this song brings me back to my heart center. It brings God’s goodness to the forefront.

I wasn’t sure what this summer looked liked for me. Our outdoor temps hit the triple digits in early June, so I thought about things to do indoors, but then decided that was nonsense. I must be outside caring for flowers and surrounded by nature, so each day I tried something different to keep cool. Stepping outside at various times in the morning, until it felt right and using a wet rag on the back of my neck if needed, but the morning in reference, I didn’t even break a sweat.

That’s grace.

This is the first time all summer I’m not covered in sweat while writing. For once after returning inside from the yard, I didn’t need to stand in front of the A/C, or in a cool shower, so I’m gonna chalk this up to His reward for making it to August while doing what I love. I hope you won’t allow outside circumstances to hinder your heart song, because trust me lovely, where there’s a will, there’s always way, it just might look different. There’s an ease to life when we let Him lead.

After being outdoors through June and July… August feels easy as we head toward the end of the year. May this song be the watering wand to your very soul as we ease into August.

Lauren Daigle-Thank God I Do

You’re my safe place
My hideaway
You’re my anchor
My saving grace
You’re my constant
My steadiness
You’re my shelter
My oxygen

I don’t know who I’d be if I didn’t know You
Thank God, I do.

These words jump right out at me today. Already, the last couple of days, I’ve had something you posted on my mind–something about how we just can’t see, yet, the bigger picture unfolding for us. I was feeling that going into reading THIS post, and I’m feeling it even more now that I’ve read this. Thank you. <3

    1. It makes my heart sing that you pull a nugget from each post, Deborah. I’m grateful the words resonate with you because that’s what blogging is, in my opinion. Giving the Reader something to think about that will cause a shift in the way they think and see their journey. Thank you for your kind words! 💖

      1. As an autistic person, I think bottom up (linking little facts together to piece together the bigger picture) instead of starting with a quick, intuitive bigger picture. So, I see the bigger wisdom through these nuggets; while my inclination is to address each and every one separately, it’s easiest for me to pick out the one with which I felt most resonance and address that. So … it’s not that the rest isn’t beautiful/doesn’t speak to me, it’s just how I think. About which I am thinking, as I slooooowly, in my brain only, work to write about bottom-up thinking. <3

      1. p.s. I also really love the quote up top by Imam Shafi’i. I see things like that so often and they resonate.

      2. I’m happy it resonates Jeanne and thank you for letting me know. I see it as one of those things I wish I would have embraced sooner! 😊
