It’s not enjoyable for me to have an overflowing draft folder on this blogsite, but then again I don’t like clutter and a collection of drafts feels like clutter. This year I began experimenting with doing things differently and the draft folder was one of them, so maybe you’ll find this helpful.
We never know when, or where inspiration will strike for a topic to write about and when I hear a suggestion, I’ll try it out. An app on my phone for keeping notes works well, if my phone is nearby, or I’m not driving. Opening that app for the purpose of this post, the last time anything was added was 2022, so we see how well that worked. There’s a small notebook beside my bed, because all of the best topics appear before you’re fully asleep and I carry one in my go bag.
There’s pen and paper in every room, but when I jot an idea on a single piece of paper, it will get lost, or placed in a stack to get thrown away by mistake, so I use the draft folder for notes and blogging life became more streamlined.
There’s a draft titled, “Notes in Drafts”, in my draft folder and I like having my thoughts on one page more than a draft started for every topic. It doesn’t feel overwhelming, or cluttered and when I need inspiration for a topic I know where to go. Being in the draft folder is convenient, and when I publish a post, it’s easy to go strike through the thought. There’s a satisfaction that comes with marking it off the virtual page that’s sitting in the draft folder.
