To Live Happy

One day last year, I was in a local shop perusing their candle selection, when on my way out the door, I saw a heart shaped dish that said, “Be Happy”. It caught my eye because of the heart shape and was carved from wood which added a warm touch.

The image of that little dish popped into my mind frequently, but the reason I didn’t purchase it was because of what it said. I’m surely not alone in knowing how difficult it is to simply, ‘Be Happy’ for very long. They say happiness is a mood and positivity is a mindset, but holding balance between the two brings peace and joy to the surface.

The spoon rest that’s been lying on my stovetop for years broke. I dropped it while wiping it dry and told myself I could live without one for a while, until the day I realized how important a spoon rest is while cooking. I began searching online and found one that’s colorful and heart-shaped, but upon further inspection it had some tiny script in the upper righthand corner that said, ‘Live Happy’.

That was my light bulb moment.

To ‘be happy’ is to ‘live happy’.

  1. I agree – being happy and living happy are pretty much the same thing.

And also about a spoon rest – you don’t realize how invaluable one is till it’s not there. ❤️

    1. Right? I kept misplacing my spoon while cooking! Everything should have a place and purpose. 🥰

      1. Absolutely! Spoon rests are a place for the humble spoon to rest and relax and to honour the surface the spoon rest is placed upon. I have many. They make me happy. Just wish my children would understand why I am always nagging them about using them. They are getting there.

      2. They make me happy, too! Yes, our children will eventually figure out everything we tried teaching them once they begin adulting. It clicks for them when they’re ready to receive. Thank you for stopping by and sharing! 🧡
